Hello!
Catherine Knight-Diaz (she/her/hers) is a current graduate student at Quinnipiac University studying Interactive Media and Communications. Born and raised in Central Connecticut, she graduated from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey with a double major in Public and Professional Writing and Theater Studies in May of 2024. As someone in the Hispanic, LGBTQ+, and Neurodivergent communities, she strives to bring her diverse perspectives and empathy into whatever workplace she enters.
Catherine is interested in pursuing a degree in Interactive Media and Communications because she feels it allows her to expand and fine-tune her writing skills in a variety of mediums and prose while continuing to embrace her creativity that theater fostered.
The majority of Catherine’s work experience has been in customer service and food service, with her current position being a meat clerk at the Highland Park Market grocery store. She is trying to get into either retail or office work in the near future to make more money and gain new experiences.
Catherine’s career aspirations are still reforming, having spent her childhood, adolescence, and early undergraduate years pursuing a career in the performing arts. She would still like to be involved within the entertainment industry in some capacity, but she would also love to be involved in the realm of politics, specifically with progressive organizations or political candidates. She has a great interest in social media, though she’s not sure that’s the avenue she wants to go down yet. She is a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, and keeps her membership card in her wallet.
Catherine went to a performing arts high school in Hartford, Connecticut, where her concentration was in Musical Theater. In regards to outside activities, she currently participates in a queer-centric choir group based out of Hartford called Pride 247/365.
